Now I'll have to clean his splattered remains from my walls and floor, but I'll have the satisfaction knowing my home will never be ruined by this varmint again.

Evidently the fox isn't innocent if its just sitting there in a torn apart house. The fox is a major suspect to the crime. Though it may look innocent it is in fact guilty.
