By putting a TM symbol on it. That's all you have to do...then publish it. Trademark registration from the gov't is not required to prove that you first used it...because the proof is in the publishing.

A circle R is a different story...that's a registered mark...more bragging rights.

look up goverment agecies they will mail you booklets on every thing you need to know for free patents,trademarks,registered trademarks.
