The near 50/50 situation in the Congress isn't that big of a mandate. You can stop your posturing now. As a non-partisan who is hostile to BOTH parties, I can say a real mandate will be if all of the contendable seats (33, or something like that, in 2008) are filled by non-Democrats and non-Republicans, THEN you would have a clear sign that people are fed up. Right now they are just fed.
A word of advice? Don't whine about the Republicans blocking your legislation, in the next election. Whiners only get attention and good reactions if they are truly well liked or exceptionally attractive, and I've seen our congressionals... *shudders*

Billyboy, your arrogance is as obvious as your political ignorance. So far, the tag team of Pelosi, Murtha, Reid, Durbin and the rest of the libs has done nothing but embarrass the poor souls who thought they could improve things.
The writings on the wall, the silent majority of Americans will be looking for leaders who put security first, that's a word the libs can't even spell.
These silly people you put up as political leadership will create a crash and burn situation , even worse than Newt Gingrich did when he became speaker. You best be a little more humble, just in case my predictions come true !
