you should concentrate on the person you love and trust the most in the audience and act like your just singing to them it worked for me i think it might work for you

I totally love Kelly Clarkson. I'd recommend "Breakaway" or "Walk Away". If you dont like those you could sing old school Christina Aguilera, you know, "What a Girl Wants", "I turn to You", or even her new song "Hurt", that is very nice to sing and it's not that hard either. and hey, dont worry about the auditions; before I joined the Drama Club I was terrified of audiences, the only thing I could do in front of a big crowd was ballet. But now that I'm into acting I forget the people are there.
Good Luck.

I dont know any songs by kelly clarkson or solo singers BUT I suggest you try something with significant band accompiantment so that there is not too much focus on the vocals. This will make you feel less pressure. Also know that you are your worst critic always, this coming from me being a musician.

Hun, I can't help you with the song due to the fact that i'm not very familiar with her, BUT as for the nerves, not a problem.
I'm currenty a DJ for HOOAH!!!! Radio, an internet based radio station, and the ONLY one AM/FM OR otherwise that supports the troops 24/7/365. I've had up to 45 people connected to the feed at one point. Yeah, I can't see them and they can't see me, but still it can get the palms a bit sweaty lol. I remember my 1st show, February 20th 2006. Let's just say that I was sweating profusely. It was my first time doing this, so i was quite nervous.
My advice to you, just have a friend stand out in the audience where you can easily spot him/her and just sing to him/her as if he/she is the only person in the audience, and everyone else doesn't exist. Dunno if it would help or not, but IF you can...watch Coyote Ugly. The girl in the movie was pretty much in a similar situation to yours. :-)
I wish you luck :-)

"A Moment Like This" and "Angel" would be pretty good to sing in a talent show audition.
think of this audition as your last audition. try not to watch other contestants sing or perform and try not to focus too much on what to do when your performing. when you feel like shaking thats because youre not relaxing yourself. when youre on the stage let loose of yourself, just let yourself get carried away but you are gonna need to feel the song and understand what is it about. it's easier that way because then you don't have to focus too much about your voice.
or try this song, "At the Beginning"

I would suggest Breakaway. Coz everybody can relate to it and it's a simple and sweet song to sing. It's not as difficult as other songs of Kelly's. Hope you do well during the auditions.

Try a couple of shots 4 u and the audience too. I always say to the crowd, "the drunker you get, the better I sing!"
