I'm 27 and on Medical Disability right now for depression/mental illness. I'm working very hard to try to build a life for myself and I really want to have relationships, but am finding it difficult to meet people who are my age. I started going to church about a month and a half ago and also have started volunteering, but of course, people my age are working so the people I volunteer with mainly are retired. I've also searched through newspapers looking for things in my area that I could do like clubs or community classes, but it seems that everything out there is either for senior citizens, kids/teens or Moms (like Moms Clubs). I'm going to join my church's Young Adult's Sunday School class, but is there anything else out there that I could do?

Well, unfortunately, a lot (note not all, but a lot) of single people our age (I am 30) are usually at bars trying to get wasted. There are still some decent people out there if you look for them (church is a good place to start). There are also a bunch of online dating sites that are supposed to be for single christians only, but it is sometimes hard to get matches, or you have to pay with a credit card to be able to chat with any one. Honestly, instead of trying to find "relationships", it might be a better idea to start off with just trying to find *friendships*, because real friends will stick by you, and can even help make life feel worthwhile. I wish you luck in your search, and remember that you are a wonderful person who will make someone the luckiest person in the world some day! (Just a little boost to help you to believe in yourself.)
