They could, but they will not. As long as they make money for McMahon, he will keep them. But I believe that if the media picks up the scandal, and if McMahon has to justify himself, he will use these wrestlers as scapegoats and fire them.
By the way: Why weren't they punished before? WWE has a "wellness programm", doesn't it? They test them regularly and punish those who fail the tests? lol

No, Vince has always encouraged steroid usage by doing it himself and promoting huge guys like Hogan, Dino Bravo, Lex Luger, Don Marocco, The Rock, Randy Savage, and HHH. The whole notion of the WWE's "wellness program" serves only to decrease the amount of painkillers, cocaine and other narcotics that are rampant in the WWE. It also gives Vince a reason to deny payment to wrestlers that he feels are not living up to his expectations. Example being Chris Masters. He was suspended for violating the WWE's program. At the time he was involved in an angle with Carlito who he had just been jobbed to. The feeling was that he was not getting himself over with the fans. Vince probably figured that he had just given Masters a push and he was not returning the favor. Sure when he came back, he was smaller, but he has gotten all that size back since then. I am sure he didn't do this naturally. But Vince did not have to pay him while he was out and it kept Masters off of television and out of the spotlight.
Also look what Vince did to Randy Orton. When Orton made an appearance during his last injury rehab stint, Orton was a lot on the small side. Everyone noticed it including Vince. I remember Vince coming out during his promo and berating Orton, telling him to go eat something because he looked too thin and ridiculous. I guess he took Vince's advice. If Vince was serious about the steroid policy then Cena, Orton, Benoit, Booker T, Batista, The Undertaker, Bobby Lashley, and RVD should be the first ones tested and sent home for obvious reasons.

A Statement From World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.
March 19, 2007
All of the allegations set forth in a recent SI.com article mentioning WWE predate the initiation of WWE’s current Talent Wellness Program. This WWE program prohibits the use of performance enhancing drugs, as well as other prescription drugs which can be abused, if taken for other than a legitimate medical purpose pursuant to a valid prescription from a licensed and treating physician. For purposes of WWE's policy, prescriptions obtained over the Internet and/or from suppliers of prescription drugs from the Internet are not considered to have been given for a legitimate medical purpose.
Meaning, legaly, WWE can't fire them because the accusations came before the program went into effect. But the McMahon hammer will come down on them.

Not really, but they are going to catch flack for it.
I mean, they didn't fire RVD and Sabu last year when they were caught smoking weed. And unlike steroids, that stuff is not approved by the FDA.

No because if they did that they would have to fire people like Cena, Batista, Lashley, and pretty much everyone else because most of them are on steroids. I hope that answers your question.

doesn't anybody remember the steroid scandal of 1994 in pro wrestling. i mean look at it, Vince McMahon almost went to jail for that. he won't fire his top stars over the steroids. and he may ended up going to jail for this one if he has to.
