Robin Uthappa and Irfan Pathan are both in the squad but Robin Uthappa is in a better form so he is in the playing eleven and not Irfan Pathan.

Both players are in the WC squad. I guess what you meant to ask was, why is Robin in playing 11 and why is Pathan excluded. As an Indian cricket fan, I am as perplexed by it as you are. If i were a captain, I would play Pathan any day instead of Robin. I see Pathan and Robin equal with batting skills. So, Pathan has an edge with his bowling, though he isn't sharp these days.
Something else that has me confused is why do we play Virender Sehwag instead of KKD Karthik. I guess in the past year, Karthik has done exceedingly well as a specialist batsman!!

Pathan is in the squad but is not in the playing 11.......
Uthappa has a very good strike rate as well as a very good batting average....
But on the other hand, Pathan is a very good strike bowler as well as a handy cheeky batsman.............
u see its all a matter of fitness...................
Pathan may be going through some injury or a bad patch and the BCCI might not want to take any sort of risk in this.........
Maybe that's the problem..............
Otherwise, we don't see any type of reason that might cause his absence in the field in the Carribean......................
