in a public place typing this and this guy came in smelling
like week old salami and fish

Maybe he has that fish smell disease, where the body can't process some kind of protein properly and they stink like rotten fish.
Or maybe he's mentally ill.
Or maybe he just doesn't smell himself. Like, when I lived in Gainesville (FL), there were a ton of dirty hippies around and they HAD to be immune to their own smell, because if they could smell themselves, they'd wash up for sure.
Ugh.

Of all the species of animals on the planet the human being requires the most hygiene and smells the worst even to himself. We also are not part of any predators food supply. Only injured or sick predators eat humans and only as a last resort. Sharks only bite us by mistake and always spit us out. As for your question... people are raised by dysfunctional parents or caregivers. Cleanliness is Godliness. as for being around dirty people I'd rather throw-up thru my nose and eat it with a straw than ever be offended again by the putrid smell of someones filth. I hate to say it....
