Rock, non-pop..mmmh, you could try Muse, Razorlight (I guess), Kaiser Chiefs, Kasabian, Test Your Reflex, Jet...all I can think of :)

I Love Snow Patrol- Make this go on forever, Hands Open, Chasing Cars, Headlights on Dark Roads,Set Fire to the Third Bar.
I am also inlove with Good Charlottes New song called the River. It features Avenged Sevenfolds M.Shadows and isn't their normal Emo selves at all.!

The Shins are rock.
Simple Plan is Alternative Punk on itunes, but they sound a little pop. Very depressing band though.

I'm not sure what is meant by alt-rock.
I recently got "Reach" by Survivor and it holds up quite well in comparison to their previous albums. I also have an album of music by Lenny Breau (jazz-rock).
