OSU vs. Michigan- It's really awesome, I look forward to that game every year.

USC vs. UCLA- I was so happy when UCLA upset the Trojans and kept them out of the BCS Bowl.

As for Alabama vs. Auburn? Please. Yes, I used to live in Alabama, so I know how intense the rivalry is, but the Tigers have OWNED the Tide for the past few years, so it hasn't been as interesting. Maybe I'll care again one day.

I also like the Georgia vs. Florida game, but I'm kind of upset that they can't use the name "the world's largest outdoor cocktail party" anymore. :(

Cheers!

You obviously don't know squat about college football. "This year???" Try every year, pal. OSU-Michigan has already been named the greatest SPORTS rivalry in history by every major sports magazine, newspaper, or TV network...even bigger than Yankees-Red Sox, Lakers-Celtics, or Ali-Frasier.
Every year during rivalry week, where does ESPN College Gameday go? What game has determined the conference championship almost every season? What two states actually had a war in the late 1800's to fight over an area of land? (Which, just as on the field, Ohio won that fight as well. That's how we got Toledo. I think we could give it back, now.) The Buckeyes and the Wolverines have hated each other forever. If a player is born and raised in one state and plays for the other school, they are called a traitor and hated. The only other rivalry in college football that can compare would be Army-Navy because of the history and military tradition...otherwise, nothing else comes close. Nothing anyone can say will change the fact that OSU vs. Michigan is the #1 sports rivalry in history. To say anything else is just ignorant.

It is the Red River Shootout hands down. The only other rivalry that has an neutral site is the world's largest cocktail party between Georgia and Florida. You can't beat the OU-Texas rivalry since it has it all. Hatred between the schools, the stadium is split in half with the Sooners getting the north side and the Horns getting the south side. It always has something to do with who plays in the Big XII championship. Maybe if Ohio State and Michigan had to go to a neutral site it would make it better. There is nothing better (or worse) then having your side of the field packed and cheering after the other side of the field has emptied out.

There are so many great rivalries; each year if both teams have great records, it could constitute a great rivalry. Over the last fifty years or more there has not been a consistently better rivalry that Michigan Ohio State. It is still great today.

Western Michigan / Central Michigan also rocks!!!!

well michigan and ohio state both play in a weak conference which showed up in the bowl games as both got drilled they play each other and thats the only competition they face all year so i gotta say Tennessee vs Florida the winner of that game is usually a favorite to win the sec but they have to go thru alot of good teams to do so besides if ohio state and michigan played in a real conference like the sec they would be bottom feeders lucky to even make a bowl game

During the OSU-Michigan game Michigan University handed out fliers to all fans traveling to columbus and on them were posted certain tips that they should follow, please remember that these tips were totally sincere and serious. They were later printed in the columbus dispatch on the front page.

Please try to wait untill you are already in the stadium to put on any jerseys, hats, shirts, and keep all signs hidden untill in the stadium. Also take these items back off before leaving the stadium.
If you must travel around columbus try to travel in groups.
Do not drive with Michigan plates, if it is possible rent a car or borrow one from a family member that does not have Michigan plates.
Please try to avoid other fans that appear to be intoxicated, if you are heckled by these fans just avoid them and leave the situation.
Please avoid High Street at all costs, do not go anywhere near high street before or after the game.

There were others that i forget but they were all sincere.

And lets not forget the year that OSU had bomb squad dogs sniff the Michigan team bus and players before they were aloud into "The Shoe"

So if you believe that there is any rivalry bigger than OSU please rethink it, and if you come to the same conclusion as before. Just find a different sport to cheer for.

Historically: Army v. Navy is the biggest rivalry.

As far as national implications, I would say that Michigan vs. Ohio State is the biggest, just edging out Oklahoma vs. Texas.

Any other rivalries, though they may be intense, can't even be considered. It is one of these three, no question. I don't say this to denegrate anyone's school or belittle their rivalry, but these three are as big as they get.

The next tier includes USC-UCLA, Georgia-Florida, Harvard-Yale, and Miami-FSU.

Well the first thing that i have to say is that a football rivalry does not go year to year. It transpends time. I would have to agree though. I believe that Michigan and that ( O.S.U.)other school up there is the biggest and best college football rivalry in history. Period.

The biggest one hands down is the Louisville and Kentucky, where else in the country is the national guard called out to keep crowd control for a football or even a basketball game.
