Or sleep easier when it's raining outside? I know not everyone finds it easier to sleep when it rains, but for the majority that do, why is this?
I've heard it's got to do with air pressure, but I'd like something more details and with scientific proof/background, please.

I find it easier to sleep because the rain is very relaxing and my head rests next to my window. The sound of rain makes it very soothing. Also the sky is usually dark making the sun a non-issue.

No proof but I feel that its a learned behavior in animals. In the animal world even the mighty predators lay low if its raining. It seems like everything is avoiding the rain as much as possible. So I believe we get a sense of security from it.

well, the sound of rain, raining down is very soothing. it's calming and relaxing (i think they all mean the same) but have you ever fallen asleep to the sound of showers with distant thunder? you should try it.

those lil cd's that they sell with the sound of light showers and distant thunder sell.

this is because of the lack of light going into the eye. the brain thinks that it is time to sleep becaues of this.
