I will be graduating in May with my BSE in Early Childhood to Middle Childhood (otherwise known as PreK to 6th grade). Does anyone have any tips for me of what to put in my resume? Thanks!

*Objective
*Where you graduated college, degree and GPA
*Professional Preparation - student teaching experience highlighted by your strengths or special tasks, other in school experiences where you took responsibility for teaching a certain aspect.
*Any work experience that relates to your field - summer camps, preschool, babysitting... anything that shows leadership and responsibility
*Honors and Activities - Dean's list/honor roll, Offices held, organizations you were a member of (frats/sororities), extra curricular activities
*Refrences - professional... co-op teacher for student teaching, professor that observed your student teaching and any other professional connections you have made.

Hope that helps you get started!

J_mo83 gave an excellent outline for a resume.

Thus, to calm your fears of lack of experience, realize schools may not want teachers with experience.

One world of thought is that new teachers are moldable, flexible, and cheap!

Many school districts have teacher shortages, and they are in severe need for qualified teachers--new or experienced!

Submit a resume to as many schools you are willing to work for and see what happens.

Good Luck....
