Women's primary role to days society is as it was when Eve first sinned and was made to bear children. They are to be nurturers. However some choose not to do that and find other construct for their life. Family has always been the primary role for men and women, it will continue on even into the end times.

I’m going to agree with Alexandra on this point; there really is no primary role for women today. We have lots of choices.
Some people will still try to impose primary roles on each gender anyway. They can try.
Perhaps they need the security that level of structure provides.
I’ll still prune trees with my chain saw AND cook dinner for the family. And I will celebrate the fact that I CAN do both.
Robinson: What do you mean that men are not afforded the same opportunity as women to do what they choose? Are you saying that men have a defined primary role? Please explain.

In my house my wife's role is to do whatever she wants to do, as long as equal responsibility are met. With three kids, both of us working and a huge house payment, we both work . Although she does not have to work she chooses to work and she only does so at her convenience. She is a home maker and a business lady. As a man I believe a woman's place is were they want to be, were there comfortable being and a man should allow them to do so. I'm not saying that she has complete freedom to do what ever she wants, but equal freedom to live happy. A mans role is just as important in a family to help as much as a man can. Not to be sexists and i hope no one takes this the wrong way, but I honestly believe that men cant take care of children as well as women and this is just from my own experience in my home. It might be different in other homes so. The role of a woman in a family is very important to keep the structure of a home running smoothly. Without my wife id be lost.
Take care

why do you have to make it sound as if the women of today have nothing better to do in life except to be role models for coming future generations. women played important roles all through history and will keep on doing so but there is no need for them to go through life as if its a duty to be done for the betterment of mankind. and honey dont forget charity begins at home.. so start thinking what you want to do for your betterment which will eventually help the society :)

A person's role is not primarily defined by their gender. There are a lot of other factors that influence a person. These include (but are not limited to) age, ethnicity, religion, physical appearance, intelligence, personality, nationality, class, and family upbringing.
My role is much more similar to a male graduate student from the United States than it is to an 80-year-old woman from rural Kurdistan.

I don't think women as a group have a primary role anymore. Now women have nearly all the opportunities men do.

To care for the children.
No offense, but this will always be the PRIMARY role for women. They might choose to do whatever they want. They can take on whatever career they want, provided they take care of their children FIRST.
This is the absolute number one thing that screwed up our western society during the last 30 years. Children were left unsupervised and look how crime has shot through the roof and look at the depravity and the end to real morality. It's not that women left the home, it's that they neglected their children, or had their children raised by strangers.

As a woman, I say my role is whatever I choose it to be. I choose to have children and want to instill certain values then my role of course is nurturing mother. I think my roles change as I do.
