but, the ending is slightly different than the one in Romeo & Juliet.

WEst Side Story, by Leonard Berenstein. He was going to write it in terms of Jews and Irish, I think, and call it East Side Story, but opted for the more dramatic clash of cultures between Puerto Ricans and Irish on Western Manhattan.
