He is extremely smart.
He is loaded with charisma, which means that he is a natural leader, and people are excited by him.

He has constructive ideas.
He has the potential to unite people, not to turn one group against another.
He knows how to work with other politicians to accomplish positive goals.
I have not seen a politician with this kind of star power since Bobby Kennedy. Obama is a phenomenon.

The MTV generation, who get their information in short sound bites, love Barack Obama because he is black, and that is currently considered cool.
Ask ten of Barack's supporters about SPECIFICS, and nine will give you a dumb, blank stare. Or, they'll mutter some platitudes about him being a champion for peoples' rights, or has concern for the poor. In other words, they don't know.
You see, we already have a stellar black person in our government, Condaleezza Rice. But because she is engaged in very serious matters, requiring the utmost skill and intelligence, the average person doesn't even want to scrutinize her vast contributions to the welfare of this country because that would require actual work and brainpower. It's easier for the Comedy Central generation to just latch on to a black with some charisma because it's a quick, effortless endeavor. No thinking involved..... just ask his supporters.

He is a new, different Democrat. He is not like Ted Kennedy or Al Gore or any of those other old tired looking farts.
Barack looks good because nobody has found a way to dig up dirt and scandal and hurl it at him. So far he's clean... but that might change.

I don't hate him. He was just voted the top liberal voting record of any democrat in congress, even over Hillary and Joe Biden. That's does not endear the man to me, but I certainly don't hate him.

I do not hate him, but He should explain his stock market manipulations to us. he also should explain how he as a liberal could belong to that church he attends. It's beliefs are not very liberal. last but not least he has not mentioned any kind of platform that he will be promoting if he gets the nomination
