Today I caught a glimpse of the headlines of one of the papers about us Scots not recycling enough. I do my bit to help the enviroment but I do disagree with the people who live near the skips and get their rubbish collected at their door and people who live 4-5 miles away has to take theirs to the skips a bit stupid I think and then you get the people who gets theirs collected complaining about putting the boxes out. Does anyone have their veiws on recycling?

Recycling is a scam, with the exception of aluminum it takes more energy and causes more pollution to recycle something than to just make it from scratch. Not to mention it costs more. The idea that we are cutting down to many trees is made up most of the trees cut down come from tree farms, trees grown specifically to make paper. The fact is there are more trees today than there ever were. The landfills are filling up to fast is also made up. there is plenty of room for landfills not to mention they create methane which can be used to fuel homes. These are just a few examples of the lies the recycling community tells us. Read "Eight Great Myths of Recycling" and tell me what you think.

To be honest the thought of not recycling stuff scares me a bit. Like when I have to throw something away, I'm thinking, this is gna b burried somewhere and never used again x a gillion other people and all their stuff...it can't go on forever...
But the government need to make it easier for everyone to do...
I really dont see why its necasairy for cucumbers to be wrapped in plastic though...you wash them anyway, and you cant get the stuff off! Why wrap everything in plastic? YYYY!!

I think recycling is essential and we have been doing this for years. We save our kitchen vegetable waste, bottles, tins newspapers, grass cuttings and other garden waste goes into a green bag.
Shortly we are to get wheelie bins but I prefer the method that our Council has at the moment and find it no problem at all.

I think it is a load of bollocks waste of time, the problem is over packaging but because the world is run by corporations who need plenty of marketing they would rather blame the joe public who do as they are told like the good little brain washed people they are.

It must generate a lot of revenue for the councils, I notice the council tax has gone up as usual so theres nothing in it for the householders that are contributing to the scheme.
