i won't call your child a spoiled brat. 9 coach things is a lot, but oh well if you can afford it, go for it. my only extra advice is to make sure she doesn't grow up with misconceptions about money management. I am 25 years old and grew up with an allowance without ever doing any chores. my mom did everything for us....dishes, laundry, trash...everything, and she would buy us pretty much whatever we wanted. moving out was a real culture shock for me. money management was next to impossible, and I totally blew my credit. I guess what I'm saying is don't lead your daughter to beleive that you will always get something for nothing. maybe you should add a chore or two. as much as I loved having someone do things for me, it was a hundred times harder for me to move out and learn how to do them on my own.

If an 11 year old has any Coach things it is too many. Although you may think you are doing her a favor by buying her these things, it could harm her later in life. As a child, I was also a straight-A student, and my parents bought me anything I wanted. When I got out of school and had to fend for myself, I still thought I should have these things, and got myself into a lot of financial trouble. I'm not saying don't buy her anything, but you should teach her solid financial values, and make her understand that if she does get a Coach thing, it was not cheap. As more of an everyday treat, try buying her cute but less expensive things. So, yes, nine Coach things is way too many for an 11 year old.

She is spoiled if she has that many Coach things for a 6th grader. There are cute things for younger girls that are reasonably priced. She should have to pay for her purses. She will see that it's CRAZY to spend that much money on a purse. You are wasting your money. You should donate that money to charity. Children the same age as your child are STARVING and you could help stop that. Or you could go buy your daughter a $400 purse. It's your choice. But I know what my choice is.

Personally, I think that is way too much for a girl that age. She should be more interestd in dolls, books, games, etc. rather than the lastest trendy AND expensive accessories. It is awesome that she has good taste but you are setting youself up for an expensive habit that you will be stuck supporting. Maybe she should do some chores and pay for at least half of the item she wants to help her learn the true value of these items.

She's 11 .... and that's 9 too many. And she is spoiled, spoiled rotten by the sound of things. Have her do chores to learn the value of money.

She may not be spoiled in your view, but 11 coaches!!!! Tell her it's just too much and suggest giving them to family or charity. If she doesn't want to at least stop her from buying anymore and yes 11 is 2 much!!!!

I think that it is bizarre to see so many people with Coach stuff. Yesterday I saw two women in line at the store with a Coach purse. It's just silly. You should encourage your child to express her own personality, and not just simply join the crowd.

ok.. maybe you should stop buying your childs love .... obviously you the parent don't feel like you are doing a good job so you are trying to buy your childs affection. take the money you would spend on the coach item and put it away for your straight A students college fund, shes to young to appreciate coach anyway.
and if you don't like people's answers on here DON"T ASK

that sounds very excessive to me. she needs to learn the value of money and by giving her so many expensive things at such a very young age you are not doing that at all. its great that she gets good grades but rewarding her with material things isnt the best idea. try taking her out to dinner or getting her a shirt or something instead of an expensive brand name item. she might not be "spoiled" now but you are setting her up to be when she is older.

sorry but it sounds like ur one of those people who want their children to love you for what you buy them. im 15 and i have 0 coach things and i have the best parents. i get many things from them but nothing expensive because i love them for what they help me to do. she probably wants these things because other people have them and they make her feel like she belongs but in reality your only showing her that she can get whatever. i get all a's and do my chores but i have never asked for anything over 200 dollars. just think about it. so yea 9 is much. too much in my opinion.
