The Oilers are done! They have no chance of making the playoffs. The team lost the heart and soul of their organization. They are on a 11 game losing streak. They have a lot of GOOD young talent but they just don't have the confidence they had in the beginning of the season. They're just bidding for a good spot for next year's entry draft.

They haven't won a game in God-knows-how-long. According to the current standings, the Oilers are 17 points behind the Flames (the current #8 seed). With 9 games remaining, the Oilers MUST win them all in order to have the slightest chance.
I did some calculations, and though the Oilers aren't playing tonight, if the Flames should beat the Red Wings, then the Oilers will be officially eliminated.

NO WAY. I'm a huge Wings fan also, but I wasn't so naive to think that the Wings would just slide by the Oilers. I thought it would be Wings in 6. SURPRISE!! I'm glad for them, though. Anyone that's not the evil Avs. :-)

Mathematically....yes.
But reality, no. The Oil can't even win a game right now, let alone make it to the playoffs.

No way. The Avalanche creamed them last night, 5-1. They are way behind the avs in points and I think that the avs are going to overthrow the Flames and get in the playoffs. GO AVS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mathematically, they're not eliminated, but there aren't many nails needed to seal that coffin. An 11 game tailspin will do that to a team.

Afraid not, they are mathmatically eliminated from the post season. There's always next year for them though.
