because it shows off the clothes better, that is what an agent told me once, runway models arent curvy because the curves would distract from the clothes. but if you wanna be a face model or a bikini model, curves are fine. there is also plus size models, so basically if you are beautiful in some way, anyone can model! hell, even hand and feet models!

All models are not Skinny. There are many Big and beautiful fashion models.

not all models are skinny there are plus size models out there that are really pretty. for example on this season of americans next top model there are two plus size girls that are really pretty i think they might have a chance of winning too.

it's just idiotic. the whole fashion industry is inward autistic and with this too they propelled themselves to high levels of stupidity thinkiing fat is not beautiful->skinny looks good->starved look even better
did you see the episode of america's next top model where the jury got tired half way the season of the 'big' model and kept tearing into here till she was depressed and then to top it of tyra said 'i don't understand what happened, you used to be so vibrant and positive'

They think they will look better and will fit in more clothes. Exercising is fine but crash dieting is not. They set a bad example. I hope you are not imitating. I was born skinny and i hate it. They were not and they don't know how bad it feels when people tell you you are skinny. People have even called me anorexic. It sux!!

in todays society that is how the big fashion people want it, but being too skinny like that is sickly. In my opinion an average size to me is 12 . a size 2 or 3 is just silly

I don't know... It's like impractical I think for them to be that size. People wanna know how the clothes look on REAL people, not stick figures... i think they need to raise the sizes a bit.
