Bones take 6-8 weeks to heal.
You'll need to wear your cast for 6-8 weeks. But eventually they will it you with a walking cast.
You'll heal faster if you keep as active as possible. Good blood circulation will help the bones heal. But be careful not to overdo it. Work at strengthening your quads. Walk around on your crutches 'til you're tired. If you feel it start to hurt or swell...elevate your leg.
Once the cast is off... do your physio stretches and exercises. The better you are at physio... the sooner you'll be back to running.

About 4 to 6 weeks. If you heal fast it will be more like 4 weeks, and if it doesn't heal fast it will be more like 6 weeks. More likely 4 though. You should talk with your doctor more about the time line though because some doctors are picky about how long you should or shouldn't be in a cast.

6 to 8 weeks
at the end of 6 weeks a Dr will get an x-ray done to see if its healed =if so it can come off in the 6 weeks=most people do have to have a cast on for 8 weeks

Only your doc can answer these questions since he knows how bad your hairline fracture is and how long he normally makes his patients where a cast etc. Call your doc tomorrow and ask those questions.

The doctor who put the cast on should have told you this, if not try calling the office and ask the nurse.
