Does he make you work by putting a gun to your head? If not then pretend that you're a man and go get a better job if you don't like the one you have rather than complaining like an old woman.

You don't say what your job is. Most employers allow a 15 minute break in the morning and a 15 minute break in the afternoon. Does your company have an employee's manual that sets out the work schedule? If so, where is yours?

You knew that you would be working outside when you took the job. It is up to you to dress accordingly, and in compliance with company policy.

no, not in CA. you are entitled to a 15-20 minute break every two hours and a 30-60min lunch break after 4 hrs.
Some jobs have unwritten rules like you don't get a break but it is illegal. Not sure what your situationis all jobs are differernt depending on management

If you expect an answer to this question, you need to provide some details. What is your job? Was the heat out?

40 deg celcius is very hot - in fact that can be downright dangerous. I believe Most Canadian provinces call for HEAT Alerts when it hits 35 degrees.

IF you are required to work under those condition, your employer SHOULD be providing you with LOTS of water - you need to stay hydrated.
