Pretty darn well, actually. It may take a few hours or days, depending on the circumstances. But I move on to the next thing at hand.

Pavic, I have always liked your questions more than most.
I would probably say that acceptance of a refusal becomes easier with experience of such refusal(s).
Life, like sales, is a part of the process in which there includes in by its very factor, a success and failure (refusal) ratio.
When the refusal happens to be more of a larger proportioned "loss", or something more focused on, as in an individual wish, it may become more devasating to the person losing such a thing (or facing such a refusal), so they may tend als then to experience the five stages of loss. (A good example of this would be an olympic athlete who trains for the gold, yet fails to yield in even gaining placement in any sense, even with all efforts to do such being extended.
An ability to shift ones focuses is the key to finding the best advantage and angle of attack towards any mission you may set out to accomplish.

As long as the refusal is about something I had WISHED for, then I would accept the outcome.
However, if it was something that I had WORKED for, then it might be a little harder to take the refusal.

Not very well - in most cases I'd probably put up a fight and then realize it's a fight I'm not going to win and then I'd feel sorry for myself for a few days and then I'd just feel like shite for a while. I'm a very sensitive person.

a refusal is part of life, it many times is out of our control, accepting a refusal is not the same as giving up, we all have to say O.K. I'll go sometime.

Depends? If it's a girl, I'm gone in an instant! Life's too short and there's too many more to worry about just one!
If it's a dream, I'll persue it to it's end, (or mine?)!

When we long for a life with no difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds, and diamonds are made under pressure
