Nice job of generalizing there. This is an individual thing. I have been through more physical pain (tortorous) from my medical conditions than many people I know, and not once have I been a baby about my adversity. I felt depressd at times or in some deep thoughts, but the next day I would bounce right back from that state of mind. So, men are just as much warriors than women, and women are just as much babies as men. You are obviously placing a generalization from your personal experience. But someone else could easily come up with the reverse conclusion from their experiences, so it is best to not generalize.

This isn't always true. My younger sister is the biggest baby in the world when she has the sniffles. My mom, on the other hand, was up making breakfast for the crew the morning after her hysterectomy.
I think that older women tend to handle pain well because they've experienced a lot of it through childbirth and day-to-day living.
I also think that "traditional" homemakers might LIKE the chance to be pampered when ill; however, they simply can't take the time to do so.
My dad is a big baby when he's sick, but my boyfriend never even mentions it unless he's REALLY ill.
Hey!! over here!! All you guys who are feminist bashing! Hello!! I'm a feminist! I guess you don't know what you're talking about ... again.

Not all men are babies. Not all women are warriors.....you ,my friend, are tired. You need a good rest to do the job at hand. I hope you will find someone, maybe through an agency,if need be, who can help.
To be honest...most of the people thru agencies were not so great. I finally had to settle on a FEW criteria they needed to meet......1.Is the patient safe?
2. Is the patient being treated in a polite, professional manner?
3. Is he/she being respected??
I gave up looking for Mary Poppins. I remember my precious mother saying...."YOU are my Mary Poppins." I love her so much. My father also appreciated me. He was an EXCELLENT "patient." He made things so much easier because of his wonderful attitude.
I'm so sorry that you are experiencing all of this.
I still say....the patient has it FAR worse than the caregiver, even if it doesn't seem so.
Rest,pray,relax......you need to find solace whenever possible
OOPS! I'm talking too much.
God bless you,dear.

How old school.
That's one of things old women said about the men that they were Indentured to--crabby husbands.
The husbands were crabby because illness was their only chance to show a chink in their armor. The rest of the time, they were male robots programmed to "hold it all in" and die at 50 of a heart attack or stroke--from Stress.
Living according to Socially Constructed Gender Roles, they were.
Good luck.

They got trained that way by their mothers, that they can be big babies and mommy will take care of them and make them well. mothers also, trained the girls to think it is their job to take care of the men. now a days girls aren't trained that way so much, but boys are still babied and grow into men who fall apart when they get a fever or a chill.
it's the old double standard still at work!

I am generalizing here of course, but this reminds me of the story of the man who got the sniffles and he was in such pain that he moaned and groaned for days; whereas, his wife had the mumps, malarie, German Measles and the Chicken Pox all rolled into one and there she was taking care of him and a parcel of babies.
In truth when it comes to illness, men can be pretty good warriors. When my husband becomes ill, which is rare, I go out of my way to pamper him. Put my self in the mood to enjoy the ride and that particular role.

Because men are suppose to be the "hunters".
I truly feel sorry for anyone sick, so maybe it's not too widespread.
