where can i find information on pc parts i know that are compatible to a pc i want?

i need to know what parts are compatible to find in a pc, like for example how do i know what memory is sutable for an office pc or what motherboard is compatible to a workstation or home pc and why are these compatible for these certain thing, anyone know any sites that will offer this information

It depends where you get the computer. If you build it yourself, look at the specifications for some parts, mainly the motherboard, to find out what other parts will work. If you buy it, sometimes that information will be listed in documentation that comes with the computer, or you can look for upgrades on the manufacturer's website, and check the specifications on the parts they recommend, then buy them somewhere else since they'll probably be cheaper.
