keep in mind i want the best speed possiable.
also what is better more memory or more pixel pipelines or do i need to get a happy medium like 256 / 6 to 8 pipelines?

Either will work, but I would go for 8x/4x. Don't forget AGP is on its way out. This is one of the better AGP cards on the market. This just my preference, some people like ATI.

4/8x as they are the newer cards. 2/4x are OLD and will NOT run today's games. Most AGP cards are 8x/4x on the market.

It doesnt matter, i suggest a 4x/8x (im assuming you are talking about AGP video cards) because they are generally better i have a nVidia Geforce FX 5200 AGP 4x because thats all my mother board can handle, the card it self is 4/8x but it can run Counter Strike:Source, Half Life 2, Age of Empires 3, things like that, its pretty good, i like it a lot, but i suggest 4/8x
