you would need a PC that has a compatable motherboard

The chip was made for a certain socket.

If it the same as your PC then yes. If its not then no.

Laptop processors are (more recently) made to a something-M spec. Like Celeron-M. This means mobile and usually corespondes with a mobile sized socket.

Id say its very unlikely but maybe. Try it.

If the chip fits in the socket and it doesn't smoke after you turn on the power and then it boots, then it must work right? It it does nothing, then you should drill a hole in it and use it for jewelry.

Almost 100% positive it will not work.... Because they are different sockets, even if they are the same numbers, one is for mobile, one is for desktop
