First of all, I'm not a yankees fan...im a dodgers fan.
So I see this hate for the yankees like similar to hate for Kobe and the lakers. Why is it?
I know money has somethin to do with. Like demeaning the sport and just buying players but isn't that what all franchises in all sports would do if they had the money? Think about it...isn't it a business after all..but from us fans point of view its wrong and that putting business in sports takes away the fun but people are serious about competition so who cares?
But why do people refuse the accept the rich history and their entertaining clutch performances from great sports franchises like the yankees?

It's not the Yankees people hate, it's their own team and it's owners. They wish that their teams were like the Yankees and are just jealous of the Yankees success.
People can't blame the Yankees anymore for spending money. All teams are spending money. Every franchise in baseball has had the money to spend but all but the Yankees decided not to. You can't blame the Yankees for that.
When I see someone post a "I hate the Yankees" comment, I just laugh. It's just envy and nothing more. Instead on spitting venom at New York start questioning your own team and ask why they haven't made the same commitment to winning. as the Yankees have!!

People hate the Yankees because George Steinbrenner spends 200 million on his players per year while many teams don't spend more than 60 million. Imagine if the NFL did away with the salary cap and the roster of the Houston Texans had Carson Palmer as a third string quarterback because he was behind Brady and Payton Manning in the depth chart? Do you think the Texans would have any trouble winning games then? Don't you think that everyone who wasn't a Texans fan would hate the Texans and Texan's fans? I can tell you the fans of the Bengals, Patriots, and Colts would hate the Texans because they bought away their best players. The Yankees are doing the same thing in baseball. It may not be rational to despise a team that has big bucks to spend on players, but, as one ESPN talk radio host said, "fan is short for fanatic."
Yes, the Yankees have a rich history. But the Yankees of today is not like the Yankees of the 1940's, 1950's, and 1960's. In fact baseball today is nothing like it was back then. Today they are all overpaid, overjuiced shells of the quality guys who used to play the game.

I dont know why many people hate the Yankees. But after what Jonny Damon said, i think more people will stop liking them. And I'm not a yankees fan either. I'm a Cardinals

there is no suprise in the team. everyone on the team is "the best" so the only place for them is to go down. the best is a figure that is well defined in NY. you are the best becouse the group declared it. the yankees belong to NY not George STI. new yorks decide who is the best, not george or the contract. so when some player signs to the yankees any they can't handle the city that they play in how are they going to handle the game?

they do b/c there haters because they spend lots of money and all this other crap true they do have a rich history and also because we have 26 WS and because teams are afraid of the yankees and there ever teams would like to be like the yankees and its sad to tell u the truth and i a m laker fan to it gets me mad when they hate on kobe well it happedns because kobe is a amazing player they will always hate on great player

because they always win and it starts to get annoying/boring
the owners a spoiled brat who pretty much does what you said he buys players otherwise the players theyve signed wouldnt have given new york a second glance if it werent for the money (look at johnny damon)
and because the boston boys are always trashing the yankees so pretty much the entire country is catching the wave

Hard working men/women do not like teams that try and buy world championships as opposed to earning them with hard work and team chemistry...ie the Red Sox of 2004.

i hate the yankees simply because they have won so many titles, i don't know about anyone else.
(i don't hate the lakers, i just hate the ball-hoggin, rapist kobe, do respect his game though)
