I believe that the only state funded aid that will not be touched by a child support agency is welfare, so yes, your ex will still have to pay child support.
Don't expect to get much though. If he's only getting $623 a month, they won't take more that 50% of it, which would be $311.

No, you can not take from his SSI for child support, but you can file claims for SSI for your children. They are elligible for benefits because they have a parent who is disabled. The amount will be better than child support would have been.
Get to your local Social Security Office and apply for the children.

Yes you can still get child support. I'm not sure of the amount though. It depends on what his monthly benefit is for dependents. But I know you can definitely get it. i know a couple guys on SSI and they both have child support orders against them. Call children's services to see what you have to do to get it in place.
I don't think his benefits will be cut. The guys I know get $8-900.00 a month and their child gets $3-400.00. If there is more than one child then the dependent care is divided by the number of children.
If you have ever gotten a SSI statement in the mail breaking down how much you have made to date and how many credits you have, it tells you what your benefit will be if you were to become disabled that year or die, and what dependent children will get and what you spouse would get for caring for your surviving children(if you died). Then it give the maximum you could get for the family.

That depends, you need to contact your local social security office with your x's social security number and tell them what you have told us. There are funds out there for just that but your children have to meet the criteria set aside in each case. They will be glad to go over it with you and There are avenue's with the Department of Family and Children Services as well. So get to calling and checking.

glad to see another fine flaw of the "child support" program.
regardless of his financial situation, YOU don't get anything. the child support is SUPPOSED to be for the financial costs of raising that child (i.e. the name) and if you are really trying to get assistance for the cost of raising said child...then i would suggest trying to work with your ex first and then go through regular channels, again, not your concern on how much YOU would get.
i hope you meant that and not one of the parents out there seeing how much you can cash in on your kid...

Yes you can get child support. The amout you get will be figured out by the gov't. You have to go to the ss office and apply. They will take it directly out of his check.

all i have to say is....the "ssa" is "tricky" to say the least....here is the site and see if you can "decipher" it.
You did say though he is on ssi there is a difference between 'SSI' & 'SDI'....so do you know which one he is on? One is suplemental and the other is disability.... IF he is on disability i am PRETTY sure that NO he does NOT have to pay child support. If he is on SSI he MIGHT yes.
You need to find out ...

as a proud payer of child support, you can put in the court order to have him pay, and if he doesnt then he will be punished by having his drivers license taken away. if the court finds that he can indeed work and just doesnt want to then they can put him in jail. (missouri law anyway).
