I'm not sure what factoring by graphing is, but you can factor these out like you can any other expression. It looks tricky because of the parentheses. If you had xy - 2y, you can see that you have a y in common, so you'd take that out and you'd have y(x - 2). In your first problem, if y was (a + 2), you'd have the same situation - the (a + 2) is common, so you'd take it out like you would the y - (a + 2)(x - 2).

Likewise for the second one - (x - 3) is common, so take it out and you'd have (x - 3)(m + k).
