I think David McAlmont has a similar range, although a quite different style.

You may be interested to know that there is a fantastic tribute concert to him at Shepherds Bush Empire, London on Wednesday 28th March 2007. The following acts are performing Billy songs alongside their own:

Electric Soft Parade
British Electric Foundation (Glenn Gregory and Martyn Ware from Heaven 17)
Claudia Brucken and Andrew Poppy
OneTwo (Claudia with Paul Humphreys of OMD)
Subterraneans with Paul Haig (ex Josef K) and Christine Beveridge (39 Lyon Street)
Mower
Howard Hughes (Billy's pianist.

A cracking line-up I'm sure you'll agree! And its all in aid of the Sound Seekers charity, which helps deaf children in the developing world.
