It's not about the Empire of Iran, it's about the Persian Empire. So other than being jazzed up for the big screen, what's got your panties in a wad? It's a true story, that 300 Spartans under King leonidas held back Xerxes hoards for three days giving the Greeks time to mount a defense and kick his butt back to Persia. If you can't deal with the truth, take a pill.

It was a movie about a comic that was based off another movie about a singular historical battle. As I have said, most Americans didn't know that Persians are now modern day Iranians. Secondly, this happened even BEFORE the foundation of Islam by Mohammed (PBUH). This was based only on a battle that happened between 300 Spartans against thousands of Persians. This battle took place over 2500 years ago! Seriously, get over it. It was purely entertainment. Worry less about a movie and more about your current political leadership.

First off... you are a moron. And most of the responses are idiotic as well. Angry about fiction? Seems silly to me.

And you are pointing your anger at the director? Try reading the GRAPHIC NOVEL by Frank Miller, to which the movie was adapted from. That is where the "monsters" are derived from, not as a political slander against a people.

It was based off of a real battle. BASED off of. No one ever said it was a historical reinactment.

Well, there was definitely 'poetic license' taken. However, you will note that everyone not Spartan was considered substandard.

And there were things about the lush empire that struck the Greeks as decadent.

There are currently things about the US that strike people as decadent.

You can't get too upset over someones opinion.

Who cares? This is a movie about something that happened thousands of years ago. Now you know how conservatives feel when leftists like you make fun of us. Turn about is fair play.

Hollywood does this in every movie. You should be glad the Spartans weren't Americans.

It is inconceivable that ANYONE should portray ancient Persians as anything but nice. Is that what you want to hear, achmed...?...
