You are working yourself up for nothing. They do hurt, but for like 1 second then the pain is pretty much gone.
Try this. Grab the chair (or bring a rubber ball with you) with your non-shot hand. When they give you a 1-2-3, concentrate on squeezing as hard as you can. Make a face...then its over! No big deal.
One other thing. I get a flu shot every year and this is something they tell me. The tenser you are when giving the shot, the more it will hurt. So try to relax your muscles when going through with it.

Not a big deal. The worst part is actually seeing the needle, not the shot. When I get shots I simply look away from the arm they're doing the shot in as soon as the nurse comes in so I never see the needle, and I'm fine. It's a little pinch, but if someone pinched you kinda hard with their finger nails it might hurt worse. Not that bad at all.

Well, I had the same situation. I was sort of afriad too. But when I got the tecnics(however you spell it)shot, it didn't hurt as bad as I thought it was. Like, getting your ears peirced was worse than the shot. It was just a little pinch on the shoulder. But the shots you may get may be different from what I got. And it also depends on the needle the thinner and pointyer, you have less pain. So you are pretty much working yourself up for nothing.

Lol, shots aren't bad at all. I remember a few years ago I hadn't had a shot in a while and I was all worked up about it, and then I felt really stupid after I got the shot because it doesn't really even hurt. Trust me, there are way better things to worry about.

It can depend on the person administering, and also the shot you're having. If it's in school then it's not going to hurt unless the nurse isn't good at it, which is unlikely. At most it will sting a little when the needle comes out, by which time it's all over. So don't worry!

When I was younger I HATED getting shots. I'd hide and stuff. Then I'd cry and squirm around when I got the shot. Since I made such a big deal about it and moved around a lot, I think this caused it more pain than it should have been. I remember feeling a lot of pain, but it's been a while, and I'm older. Just don't move around or think about the shot, and it should be fine.

I found that the shots got progressively worse. The third one made my entire arm go numb and then break out in a rash. It was a painful shot, but it didn't cause any long term problems. If you're nervous, have someone hold your hand. My mom held mine at my first shot. Good luck!

The discomfort from injections is minor and only lasts a couple seconds. Compared to many many other things, it's a walk in the park. I would rather have a shot than have to take pills or liquid medications.

As long as you relax and just think about something different you will be fine. Dont watch either. Its only as bad as you make it. The after affects might be a little worse then the actual shot. Your arm might ache a little or be sore at the injection site but you'll be fine.

it really depends on what the shot is for. the thicker the medicine the more pain. usually there is some discomfort at the sight of injection but it is not severely painful. i have done many and many injections to pts and they say it hurts a little bit but not severe. it will also take your mind off what you are getting the shot for! good luck
