can anyone please give me a website were i can get free music downloads, i've tried a few but when i went onto them i had to pay a fee to sign up before i could download any music

Don't use limewire it does not work that well . Every time i do a spyware scan it removes limewire . I would install frost wire it's worked well for me get the free version and get it here.

Soundclick.com comes to mind--it has a lot of free and some non-free downloads. I'm sure other such sites exist. True, these are often unknown bands--you're not going to find all the popular music that is put out by labels. But as the other posters said, why don't you pay for your music, or else get the stuff that is legally free? What gives you the right to take it, whether you think the price is reasonable or not?

why cant you purchase music on itunes and save yourself buying a new pc???

There is no free music downloads on any website....
if you download.. example: www.wirelime.com, you might will get many viruses, hi jacked, and everything...It happened to my computer, it was destroyed cuz of that stupid program.
There is safest way: Only if you find that website that has unlimited downloads for 9.99$ monthly which you can dowload any songs as much as you want!
if these websites are fee, they aren't worth to trust than Wirelime.com, they are only fool you and trying to destory your computer. Don't do that, if you listen to me.. you will never regret it or not?

I personally like Limewire but its not all that certain that you will find what you want and sometimes the searches come up with random stuff (sometimes sex vids and stuff)

try myspace or you'll just have to download limewire. but if your computer is slow, then i suggest that you use myspace. because limewire uses up a lot of memory and it makes your computer very slow.
