The short version is that I work for a fortune 10 company. I get a small salary and commission off my sales. Well lets say I sell enough things to make $6,000 in commission that month, well my company takes $1,000 of that away and pays me $5,000, minus taxes and I see about $2,800 of that a month.

Some people tell me, well you make 100,000 grand a year dont complain, some people say that I could use that $12,000 a year they take more than the company can.

What do you think???

I will add details...

I am using a phone and a computer. Dont most other jobs provide this? This is just something that the company takes to make more money. If they take $1,000 a month from the 4,000 people that do my job, then I guess they feel better about themself as a company.

Although at the age of 22, I guess I could be working at Burger king and not have this problem

and no it is not a draw. If I make 900 in commission in a month, I keep nothing and just get my salary if I make 1100 a month, I keep 100 no matter what.

Regardless of how much you make, that is money that you earned! The only acceptable entity who can take money from your check is Uncle Sam.

What exactly are the company costs????

You seem to want to hear that you are being ripped off by the company, but you give no information to support that. What is the $1000 deduction? Is your salary actually a draw that is taken back against your commission? Did you agree to pay for certain equipment for personal use? I have done payroll for commissioned salespeople with both situations, and there is no rip off there.

If it's part of your work contract for them to take that money, and you signed the contract, then that's that. However, if they started doing it without your consent, that's a different story.
