I think its great that she wants to make a better life for these kids, but what about the kids here in America? I work for a non profit organization that deals with abused foster kids. I see so many kids who need a home. Why not adopt here in the states? It almost seems like she adopts internationally for publicity.

I think that it's great that Angelina is adopting internationally. Probably the reason she isn't adopting kids in America is because they have high expectations from people who adopt them. A lot of time they want the mother to stay home with the child they adopt.

I don't see anything wrong with it. I think it's good that she's trying to give those kids a better life. She's not the only one who adopts internationally rather than here in the states. One reason is because it's cheaper to adopt internationally and the process is also much faster.

it doesn't matter what countries she's adopting from-a child is a child, race and nationality shouldn't even come in to it...I think she's really great for giving these children the opportunity to have a decent life. I do think as well though that she should calm down a bit on adopting for a while, I mean she has four children under the age of six now. they all need individual attention and care and she should make them her priority. I'll be really disappointed if she adopts again in the next year because I think she'd just be going overboard. obviously it's fantastic that she cares but she should go at a slower pace because it's such a huge responsibility

Yeah, I kinda agree. I think it's a bit of a publicity stunt.
But at least it's better than the sort done by B. Spears and L. Lo.

I guess it's better to adopt than not at all. But I totally understand where you are coming from.
I do wish more Americans would adopt from here. It seems like a pretty bourgeois trend to adopt from outta the country, esp Asia, for some reason. Would be nice to see these ppl adopt from here. Esp since legal fees are so much smaller here.
It costs an arm and a leg to get a kid from overseas. But if you adopt in-state, it's much more practical.

How much you wanna bet she'll be like Mia Farrow in 10 years, with like, 15 kids?

I think that helping any children is a fantastic thing. It doesn't matter to me where she adopts from. I wish that more people did that. There are a lot of people with money who even if they didn't have the time to adopt they could sponsor a lot of children and help out. And that includes some of the judgmental people that I have seen on this forum.

I think people should quit ragging on her. It's not like she has 20 kids! Only 4. There are 4 kids in my family and no one makes a big deal about that. My friend has 10 kids in her family!

Fact is, this kid's life is going to be 100000x as good as it would be if not adopted. Funny how many people who criticize her would never even consider adopting.

If she were to adopt her in the U.S. she would be such a huge target. Biological parents would come out of the woodwork and find a way to sue her for something.

The only people making an issue of who she adopts is the media and her fans. I am sure she would like nothing more than to be left alone.

How easy it is for people to criticize her. The people who criticize are the ones who do nothing for those less fortunate.

i think it is good. i think it is for publicity too. there are a lot of good kids out there who do need homes and people who do care about them and i think it is a travesty that so many kids out there are treated this way. when i get myself together, i am going to adopt here in america. i do not have no where near the money the she has but my view is the same. there are so many kids out there who need a home without bringing others into this world. i think we all need to pray for those kids who don't have a home. they are not only God's children but they are our children too. good luck.

I think she does adopt overseas for publicity, in part. I also (and I don't know this as fact) think perhaps she hasn't really spent much time around poverty stricken American kids. She spends a lot of time overseas, so she sees how kids live in poverty stricken countries...not poverty stricken neighborhoods.

I'm sure she thinks too...that kids in America have a CHANCE to get out of poverty. Kids in destitute countries have no real opportunities. If she's a good, loving mother...I don't really care where the kid comes from or why she does it.

I find it great. Those children probably don't have the same programs and organizations taking care of them like they do in America. So, I find what she does, great. Plus, if it can wake some people up about world wide issues, then, even better.
