every time i see one i want to punch them in the face.

i give charity when people are legit and don't force you to help other people.

i hate the cheesy, dancy-prancy, ball of sunshine while being mildly threatening approach.

Some are trying to atone for past behaviors that they feel were wrong. Others are just addicted to helping any cause with a smiling face. Still others are just putting on the face because they volunteer. It really varies. Forcing anyone to give or help is not charity. Charity as the saying goes, begins at home. Your anger is understandable because they can become pests. I have learned to just say NO! This does not mean not being charitable it just means freedom to choose charity. Everyone thinks theirs is the ultimate charity. I don't think so.

Wow, don't you have a soul? (I'm kidding). I agree with you about helping if it is legit. Or, why not go to the family down the street that you know is broke, can't pay bills, or feed their family and ask them over for dinner and cook them a nice hot meal. I know that this really sounds cheesy, but I would rather do that than give even 20 dollars to a complete stranger and hope that it actually makes it to the charity that they are working for.

I will take a wild guess and bet it's because you know they do very little good (a spit in the ocean) yet they feel so high and flighty because they are doing good work and it's "all for charity" Awwwwwwww. (gag)

You see what they're getting at. In other words before they open their mouth you see just exactly what they are getting at.
Song and dance is not for you, plain speech is best, get to the point and hurry up about it.
