My girlfriend says to me you must have been shot in the back in a former life , no I want to really know what causes a birthmark.

There are many theories, genetics being the leading one, but ultimately they do not know.

I was always told birthmarks are formed based on where you physically where attached to the womb. So pretty much where you were stuck.

But then I wonder...what about those birthmarks that are not visible like under you arm? Hum....I do not know.

But for the most part large birthmarks on the outer skin, that is visible, are the result of where you where attached to your mommy.

My daughter has one on her back.....on her shoulder blade. I guess she did not want to leave the womb.

Birthmarks happen when blood vessels group together in one place on the skin, while we are in the womb. No one knows why and sometimes they disappear and sometimes not.

plain old genetics....i have the same birthmark my dad had....and he didn't get shot or anything

only if the world knew. But the accurate answer no one will ever know they can come up with all the myths, and saying that they want you will never know.
