Im also secretary of FBLA, Future Bussiness Leaders of America and involved in Key Club. i work at the School Student Store at least once a week at lunch. i played varsity in golf. i write for the school newspaper. I used to volunteer at the local natural history museum. I am also in AVID and was an avid tutor befor that. What do you think i need to do? or am i on the right track?

A c+ will not ruin your chances in the long run of things. Its true that UCs do not count fresh grades. You have a LOT of time to bring up your grades to make that c+ seem irrelevant. They like to see an upward grade trend, so your grade in your first semester of grades that count is ok to be low as long as they keep going up from here on out.

ALso, your chances are better if your instate.

You're on the right track. A C+ in one class won't kill you as long as your overall is in the range they're looking for.

You sound fine for extra currics. It's just Berkeley, not Stanford. So, you're doing adequately in extra currics.

You say you have a 4.0 weighted. That's just counting your sophomore year, correct? You know UCs don't count your freshmen grades, right? You should only have 1 semester's worth of grades in the books. If you're taking 2 APs and have A's in everything except the C+, you can stil have a 4.0 weighted. Otherwise, you're gonna have to recalculate.

I doubt that a single C would ruin your chances and I do believe you are on the right track but wouldn't you be able to retake the course during summer or at another institute for a higher grade? Just a thought.

I really think you're on the right track. If you just keep up the good grades and take challenging classes, you might just get in. Remember, you're only a sophomore and you have next year and the year after that to show yourself so don't give up because it will all be worth it in the end!
