That is a difficult question because they play completely different positions. However, I am a big fan of the NBA and have watched both of them a lot. LeBron James is averaging 27.4 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game this season. Shaq, on the other hand, is averaging 17.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists this season. Although he doesn't score as much as LeBron, Shaq is much more selfish (not that I don't like him). He has also been known to miss open dunks a lot this season, which LeBron would never be caught dead doing. Since he is a consistent scorer, a good rebounder, good at distributing the ball, not too selfish even though everyone knows he is the franchise player, and an excellent leader, I am going to have to say that LeBron is a better team player than Shaq, despite the fact that Shaq has an extremely important role on the Miami team right now, what with the recent injury of Dwyane Wade. With Dwyane Wade in the lineup of the Heat, Shaq is not nearly as important to them as LeBron is to the Cavs, further demonstrating the fact that LeBron is a better team player than Shaq. Shaq does not lead the Heat in scoring (Dwyane Wade does; 28.8 a game), nor rebounds (Udonis Haslem does; 8.3 a game), nor assists (Dwyane Wade does, yet again; 7.9 a game), so he is obviously not extremely vital to the lineup as LeBron is, who leads his team in both scoring and assists (Drew Gooden leads the Cavs in rebounding, at 8.5 a game).

This is a hard one but I'll have to say LeBron James. Now don't get me wrong because I know Shaq is a great team player. But first you have to look at the players stats. James gives more assists the Shaq. Second, James is still a very young player who has the potential to be the best team leader in the NBA. Shaq did lead the Laker plus the Heat to a Championship, but lacks the team player ability because of the guys he played with.

Its proven that Shaq can carry a team as well as be a leader. While I dont think you can really compare the 2, Id say Shaq because hes older, more experienced, and is a proven Championship winner. LeBron cant really lead the team when hes only 22. Hes still young and learning. He really doesnt have as much of a team as Shaq has (although the way the Cavs are playing now, you wouldnt notice it). When Dwayne Wade went down, Shaq took that team into his own hands and started winning, but the Cavs have the better record. Go with Shaq because he has more experience than anyone in the league and is a proven leader. Still, Im a Cavs fan! But if your talking about passing and getting his team involved, then LeBron. He passes alot. Unlike Shaq, who always finds a way to score, which is not a bad thing. Leader, go with Shaq, gets his team involved, LeBron.
GO CAVALIERS!

When LeBron wins 5 rings and accomplishes what a Jordan or a Shaq has, then we'll start comparing. James is a great ballplayer but Shaq's legacy is already laid. The best all around team play in the NBA, by far, exists in Dallas.

Lebron is definately the better player. He is more rounded than O'Neal. LeBron's team is the 2 seed(soon to 1) in the east. Where are the Heat? Not on an eight game win streak and at the top of the east in wins.

Right now, Shaq has the experience, the team, and the skill, but in the (probably near) future, Lebron James will dominate the game.
