I'm 22 weeks pregnant, went to the doc yesterday and found out I have been losing weight everytime I come in for my monthly doctor visits. I lost 5 pounds since last month and 4 or 5 pounds the last couple months as well. He told me I should be ok because I am about 20 pounds overweight right now. I just wanted to know if this has happened to other people and if it's ok, it's my first and I tend to worry about the little stuff.

To Kelsey, I am not dieting at all, I'm eating healthy foods, I eat breakfeast, lunch, dinner, and also have yogurt, fruit, or veggies for a snack once or twice a day along with taking a prenatal vitamin every single day. I am in no way TRYING to lose weight, I accepted I would gain weight and was fine with it early on. I work out 3 or 4 times a week, but the excercise I do is approved by my doctor. Don't try to make it sound like I am intentionally screwing my baby over because that is not the case, just wanted to know if this happened with other people.

This is something else added to our thinking! I have lost 11 pounds and was worried sick each and every time I went to the doctor, I asked him was everything okay and he asked me was I eating well? Yes.. Was I throwing up? No.. Then you should be fine. Trust me that does not g only for me but for you as well. It is fine esp. if you were not small to begin with. Trust me when I say enjoy it now! Try not to stress.. you are fine.

I have my end of the fourth month/beginning of the fifth month appointment on Thursday.

So far, I have lost 15 pounds in total. Since I am also overweight, the doctor isn't worried. The baby continues to grow and has been measuring big for my due date so as long as I continue to eat healthy and the baby is fine, there is no cause for concern.

I was worried too, but now I am a little excited. I get a beautiful baby boy and am slimming down. Don't think that it will last much longer, though...

I lost weight during my pregnancy and ended up weighing 6 kgs less than I was when I conceived. The doctor never worried about it. As long as your bump is getting bigger each time there's nothing to worry about.

This is not good at all! remember you are responsible for the very first months of this baby's entire life! it may not seem like much, but know this, when a mother diets and is pregnant, she sets the baby into starvation mode. this is a switch in the baby's dna that is usually turned on for life. it means that for the rest of their life, any weight they put on will instantly be stored away as fat because, in starvation mode, they don't know when their next meal will be. studies prove that babies whose mothers lost weight in pregnancy were obese later in life. is that what you want for you baby? just to be skinny now?

I had a friend who lost nearly 25 pounds during her pregnancy. She weighed the same when she gave birth as what she did when she conceived....lol
Ur actually one of the lucky ones. The rest of us gain and then have to work hard to take it off.
