Tell me your opinion please, but don't say that my daughter is spoiled because she makes good grades but she doesn't do chores and I don't make her. Thank You!

Well, good grades are nice, but she doesn't do anything else to earn her designer goods? No offense, but your daughter is spoiled. An 11 year old does not need designer purses, even if they are cheaper, American designer products. But if you can afford it, why not?

Honestly? Unless you're very, very rich, I would say none. Coach items are very pricey, especially for an 11 year old. No matter how responsible or careful a child is, I don't think they would know how to properly care for or appreciate such things. I didn't get my first Coach until I was 20 and my mom just recently got hers-we're not poor by any means, but it jsut wasn't something that was necessary. When I was 11, I made excellent grades (all A's-not bragging, just as a background) AND I did chores. I didn't get rewarded for making good grades, because doing my best was something I was supposed to do and was capable of doing anyway. And not meaning to be critical, but if you buy things like that for her now, what is she going to expect when she gets older? I honestly don't think Coach products are appropriate for children, nor are such expensive "rewards". And she should have to do chores so that she will be capable of taking care of her home when she is out on her own, plus it will teach her responsibility.

what does it have to do with grades? she should get good grades at age eleven, its almost impossible not too you dont even get much homework! you shouldn't reward her for getting good grades, just encourage her and love her. Dont buy her anything she wants, she'll get used to it and when she is actually old enough to buy designer stuff, she'll want to wear all prada and gucci. Eight coach things is way too much, at least make her earn some of the money! give her like twenty bucks a month and let her learn what money is worth, and give her good work ethics. This way she'll realize how important money is, and she'll apreciate stuff more. sorry this is a bit harsh, but you might make her happy now, but in the long run she's gonna have a really hard time in college when she doesnt know how to save money and wastes all her cash on getting expensive designer stuff. do whats right for her!

I don't think its a necessity at that age or any, but I'd say maybe one or two at the most would be good and they should be little things like wristlets or those little baby purses with the thin strap. That's what I started with at thirteen. Anything bigger will look like she's trying to hard to be older than she is. Also, there's nothing wrong with having nice things. People who say kids won't know the value of money or that they'll be brats are usually just jealous because they don't or never had something like that. You can have nice stuff and still be a nice person and know what money is. On the chores thing, that's your choice but I'd have her do little somethings.

NONE. Coach is for adults, unless she pays for it. High-end products are NOT children for children.

If you don't request chores, you're creating a Monster. She will expect a boyfriend or husband to provide her with expensive clothes, purses, vacations, jewelry, furs, etc.
Stop her while she is 11 years old, otherwise it will be too late.

Give her something from Disney! Tell her she's 11 - take it or leave it.

none she shood not have 9 coach things and i dont care if she gets good grade lots of kids have managed that feat. seriously im not trying to b mean but ur kid is going to grow up to b a spoiled brat(if she isnt yet) and think she is better than everyone else. think now shes only 11 once shes 14 shes gonna want tonz more and she is never gonna learn the value of money and will end up in tonz of debt once older. u will b helping her if u dont get her tons of that cuz then she will learn u dont get everything handed to u in life.

If you are buying her Coach bags for not dong anything you are sending the wrong message to her. Give her attention and love instead of material thigs. If your "daughter" was on here asking how many Coach bags she should have and saying she has 9 real ones and gets them for no apparent reason, i already gave her my response. Get off the fricking computer and do something with your daughter!

Well, when I was 11, I had a Dooney and Bourke purse, a Balenciaga purse, a Louis Vuitton, a Vera Bradley bag, 3 Vera Bradley wristlets, all real. And umm...some more designer stuff I can`t think of, but I didn`t have Coach because I don`t know, I wasn`t really into it then...

But to answer your question, I don`t really think that she could have to much unless of course you bought her every item they ever made, now that would be to much. But if she gets good grades and works hard, I think she should get rewarded with something nice, I do...

If her feet are on the ground and her grades are good, let her keep the coach things... but for now... limit them to birthday presents and other special occasions [and ask her to help around the house a more]

besides- coach is fab!!

she's not spoiled!
i had about 6 small purses at age 10, and small cute keychains, etc.

coach is very sophisticated, but is very timeless, so its perfect. i would avoid brands like Juicy Coture until she is about 15 to 16 though, because these are a little too old for young girls and can end up looking tacky
