"During the period between 1920 and 1945 the daily lives of Americans were severely disrupted by the constantly changing economy and newly developed technology."
Major Events (you may think of more)
1. Post WWI
2. Stock market crash of 1929
3. Dust bowl in the plains states (Ex. Oklahoma) caused westward migration
4. US entered WWII on Dec. 7, 1941--during the war we developed the atomic bomb, women started working outside the home in unprecedented numbers, and the end of the war marked the beginning of the Cold War, which lasted for decades.
If you give examples of how each of these things affected the country and its people, you'll be fine.
For example, in the 1930's, we had these farmers who probably owned about 40 acres each. They plowed the land with a steel plow pulled by a horse and guided by the farmer. They went a year with no rain, and their crops failed. So they borrowed money from the bank to live on and to buy seed for the next year. When it failed to rain again the following year, the land dried up and the topsoil blew away. The bank came in and repossed their farms and forced the farmers and their families off their land. They had no choice but to head to California to pick crops.
In the meantime, the banks sold the land to large agribusinesses who built irrigation systems and worked the land with mechanized machinery, and that was the end of most of the small farmers.
So there you have economics (bank loans and repossessions, then sale of land), people (farmers that had to leave their land) and technology (irrigation and mechanized farming).
This is just some quick stuff out of my head, so it's not perfect, but it should help. So, good luck with your paper.

The change of foreign and domestic policy in the US from an isolated country to a global superpower, helped to drive the economic and technological changes between 1920 - 1945.
After WWI and later on WWII America rapidly shifted from a rural
agricultural nation to an industrial and technological engine.
The need for supplies during wartime and cutting off of supplies from abroad helped fuel the demand for sophisticated industry.
The high wages of wartime industry helped to create a more financially mobile lower class, as new wealth began to close the gap between the rich and poor.
During the 1920's, new immigrants to America brought change by carrying new ideas and culture with them from across the oceans. This led to new inventions and a more globalized economy as they kept ties to the old countries.
The Great Dust Bowl of the Midwest during the 1930's helped
bring Government into agriculture and installed better land management policies like the Tennessee Valley Authority that allowed farmers and industry to become more efficient.
Drastic changes and world events spurred the rapid evolution of American life.

World War II resulted in the deaths of over sixty million people, making it the deadliest conflict in human history, and yet the period from 1939 until 1945 created not only a surplus of available jobs in America, but the war was also responsible for the noteworthy advances being made in technology during that period of time, as well.
