I am starting a party planning business and I am looking at hosting a teen party with the theme 70's. I am trying to figure out the best time and any ideas for it. I am hoping to have 250 to 400 kids. I am also looking for a good price. I was thinking about 15.00 per kid. Let me know what you think.

As one who hosted seminars, remember the services:

-food
-drinks
-entertainment (video games, etc.)
-a good location
-music

$15.00 sounds a bit high. Music and food will be the main considerations. A fun theme might be a diner with tables and soda bars and room for dancing.

Hold it in the afternoon so that it is over about seven in the evening. Since the group is so large, it might be good to use a gym or a large church hall.

It might be good to have some live music - such as a combo or a trio who could do some 70's songs.

Good luck,

wow! what a big project?! Have you done a party that big before? :) I am a party palnner also...for small home parties...but have helped organized a large dance-school function....start with the costs.....advertising, d.j., decorations/time, food, beverages, tables.....chaparones? Games, prizes? Also, are they paying in advance or at the door? Then you also need to include your time,,,,how much are you charging an hour for planning, reserving, organizing the event? Take all of your costs into play before you set a price....Enlist in helpers if you need too...don't get caught in taking on too much by yourself...even if you need to enlist family, and friends....or make sure you have some parent volunteers. Make sure everything is layed out as far as what they want and the costs before you agree to start planning :)!
