on the ipod shuffle [1st generation] i added songs but they wont play on it WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

I put songs from my old mp3 player on my ipod but they seem not to play. they're on itunes.

are you using i-Tunes...you cant drag and drop them onto it like a normal MP3 player (thats y i-pods suck) you have to use i-tunes

are they in the correct format? ipods wont take some types of music
