What cities in the US exemplify the liberal utopia? I live near Newark and it has all the liberal programs one can dream of.....no immigration laws, weak crime laws, meth clinics, abortion clinics, high taxes, and they banned walmart. Why isn't it a very nice place to live if it has all of these programs? The place is a dump and full of garbage. You can still see "Kerry/Edwards 04" posters in the ghetto where all the white kids from the wealthy suburbs drove into the city for the day and posted tons of them because their own town didn't want trash everywhere. Who is going to clean all this garbage up now? What about Detroit, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Cleveland, etc. Why aren't all the liberal programs working there either?

region, i grew up in appalachia and grew up poor. i did, however, have enough to eat and i didn't wear "rags" nor did I ever see homeless people begging for money in the small town i grew up in. When my family went to the big city that was a new sight to me.

Since liberals depend on government to do everything for them, they'll wait in their boxes, caves, or trees until someone finds them and takes care of them.

When the repubs had a lock on the budgets they cut, cut and cut the social programs till they became all but ineffective. Answer this when Clinton was in office crime was at the lowest its ever been. Have you been to Appalachia lately many people there live in shacks, wear rags and don't have enough to eat but they vote republican why haven't the conservative programs helped them, oh yea that's because there aren't any they don't care about poor Americans.

well matt, i was talking about the big picture of new orleans. it should have been a panacea for all the ills in the world. but we know the truth. when i wrote my answer, i was pretty much showing a city that thrives on liberalism and one that did.......and look at it now. new orleans is not thriving, but the libs and the media surely thought it was, why they were raking in federal dollars for years and living fat while the people suffered, were kept divided, and kept in poverty.

at best... it's the same problems... probably a lower crime rate than before...
and as conservatives love to say... "if you don't like it, MOVE"... must be pretty nice if you're still there...

EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and in an answer to your last question...why isnt the conservative foreign policy working..plus the bush admin. has cut fuding for prgrams like those so thats why or inner city poor are falling by the way side while bush sends our citizens to iraq
