Hes 7.5 mo? Im sorry... i dont know weeks after about 12....

Anyhow, will he pick things up and feed himself? Rice cereal is junk food... its not good for them at all. Youve got a smart baby!

Dont worry so much about solids... they dont NEED solids for nutrition until at least a year. Give him finger foods (soft steamed veggies, soft fruits... etc...) and let him play.

They can't even digest grians until closer to a year, so its better to stick with fruits, veggies and meat. Ditch the purees... Get fresh foods for your baby.

Breastmlk provides plenty of nutrtion well into toddlerhood...

Try putting your baby on some mixed grain cereal or oatmeal. My son quickly lost interest in the rice. Wouldn't you? It's pretty bland stuff. Also, consider making his cereal thicker and even flavoring it with vegetables and fruit. Don't worry too much about the crawling part either. Not kidding, my son didn't actually crawl until he was nearly one year and then only for two week before he walked. It just sounds like he's ready to move on to something a little more substantial, food wise. Good luck!

8 month old baby right? we had the same problem. breastmilk is great for him, keep it up. Thats going to give him the nutrients he misses throughout his meals. fruit is not enough. dont give him cereal in a bottle, it can be very harmful-leading to overeating, choking, inhaling some of the cereal, ect. What we did is give him some orajel, get a soft spoon and try. Try different things like using juice/water to mix the cereal, his favorite veggie mix/fruit mix into the cereal, giving him some bread for starch, ect. Right now our 11 month old is teething and the bread *in micro to make it soft and warm* is a big hit and he loves the single grain oatmeal. He stopped eating the rice cereal at 10 months. Patience, keep trying and feed that baby! :)

my son took to the baby oatmeal, and if he still doesn't like that, mix it with applesauce.
