NO I'm not!! Just because you earn more money gives the government the right to steal more off you? You put blood sweat and tears into earning it and they say something like, ‘you have got too much money, give it here’. It’s like being mugged every month. In fact worse, at least if you are mugged you can report the crime.!!! The old trick of the health Service will be used again! (deliberately run it down)The health service is in trouble, therefore more tax is needed to sort it out!(up goes NI contributions) They do this because the Health Service is dear to people, and they can/do get away with it!! Are we REALLY that gullible to fall for it again??
Stealth taxes have soared since Gordon Brown became Chancellor of the Exchequer. HM Revenue & Customs now pockets £2.3bn more each week out of what Britons earn than it did in 1997.Government figures show we paid £115bn in tax and national insurance in 1996-97, while this tax year, 2006-07, the Revenue expects to collect more than double that, at £234bn an increase of £119bn.!!!!!!!!!!! ROLL ON VOTING DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No I am not, this government just amounts to tax and spend, people like 'Mojo' who are hardened Labour supporters, yet when the same Labour Supporters know they are wrong and we are going to get significant tax increases, to avoid arguments beacuse they know they will lose any arguments, they just claim they are bored. As for the rant by Micheal, the Vietnam vet with the purple heart (what ever that is), with all due respect he should keep his business out of British affairs, after all I don't interfere with American affairs.

I really hope the UK citizens are smart enough to vote out this bunch of idiots as soon as possible. We are taxed too much. I live in a one bedroom flat and i pay 110 pounds a month in council tax. The rubbish is piling up on the street outside and the roads are a mess of potholes. The council says they are broke but they find the money for useless "peoples art" projects. One project in the city centre cost 850,000 pounds!!!! How many bins would that empty?

No but it is inevitable. It may be cleverly disguised and done in the usual underhand manner of all chancellors (although Brown has turned it into an art form). The big black hole created in the country's finances will have to be filled in a little.
When you have the Tories too scared to even dream of tax cuts as a vote winner you know we are in a financial mess.

Well after the repubs in congress and the presidency have run up such a huge bill who do you think will have to pay. We can't let china keep picking up the bill forever so were either going to have to pony up or start learning to eat with chopsticks.

Not especially - I am looking forward to Brown taking over from Blair though. He's got to be an improvement.

YAAAAAAAWN!

A T G - give it a rest. We know you only carp on about Gordon Brown because the Tories have asked their supporters to do so, but it really is getting boring now. You are almost as tedious as the daily Zimbabwe/Oil questions and the endless dross about immigration.

I don't pay tax - my husband does. I pay the so-called hidden taxes, eg. VAT. but someone has to pay so that our Country can be run.

The Budget is tomorrow, and as it's his last one, i think we are all in for a nasty shock. He'll leave his beloved Scotch and Cigars alone like he always does. It's us poor sods that have to suffer. I bet road tax will go up aswell.
