I am not so sure about web site posting for finding a nanny. The best successful method so far has been referrals from nanny's working for friends and family. They have their own communities and they know who needs a job and can recommend their neighbours, friends etc.
If this is not possible, then check out the classified ads of Al Waseet (arabic & english) & community times, they almost always have listings of people seeking domestic help jobs. You can also check the notice boards of super markets in maadi if you live nearby.
1 method that very few people know is chruches. Yes, the zamalek church near marriott has a recruitment service for free. So visit them and they will make a few recommendations and if you reach an agreement, you sign a contract with the church.

i'm encouraging you to choose for it, you would be questioning why they asked to get you from the united kingdom and advantageous did no longer get an egyptian nanny, I even have an answer for that >> this is because of the fact egyptian nannies can't be relied on with young little ones they have there very own lives too, and that they may be irresponsible , I recommend you pick for and choose a clean life :D

I have never heard of anyone hire nanny from the internet!! this is new to me and I do not think works. As fozio said, newspapers such as waseet etc and the church sounds like a good idea. I can only add placing a classified ad in waseet.

there are offices through which you can hire maids, chauffeurs, security guards, chefs, etc...they usually charge half a month's salary of the thought help, some charge a full month salary. but there's a trick, the contract states that the company or office are responsible of the person in question, like replacing them for ex, for a period of 3 months. so what usually happens is after 3 months, the maid would start creating problems so that you fire her, quits, etc so that the office gets you a new one with a new contract and charge you again :) been there, tried 3 different offices, same thing.......isn't it sad
if you have friends, just ask their maid to get you one.

I just want to add to what Fozio said.
Here is a link:
http://www.maadimessenger.info/churches.htm
I use to work with refugees at All Saints in Zamalek. Refugee cases and English classes, etc. They also have some ties to the refugee program at AUC.
Friendly and hard-working...please contact the churches.... (One goal of the church/sudanese community has been to match people with good families/employers)/
