They way I understand it, we all dream in black and white. But the instant we wake up, we fill in all the colors like a coloring book. It is easier for us to understand in color; we see in color, so when we think about our dream, it is likely to be in color. People who are color blind probably don't fill in the full colors, but in the colors they are able to see.
So it would seem to just about everybody who has ever seen in color would think they dreamed in color, whether or not they reall did.
I don't know how true that is, it's just what I read. ^_^
As for having vivid dreams, I think it depends on how quickly we reach a state of "deep sleep." That's when the vivid stuff happens. Some people get there faster than others, and some people have more or less active brains when asleep.
You seem to have one of the active ones.

the book of dreams that I read state you do dream in color more than black n white. Also, the book states that when you try to remember the dream to anylize it you must remember the smells, colors, facial expressions, the winds and rains, the length of the grasses, which way the clouds are moving and so forth.
Then you look all these things up and you will get almost a story of what and why you dreampt what you did.

I had a dream once that started again the night after from where it left off, and it was in colour.It happened so many times that we had to upgrade our black and white tv license for a colour one.
Most people dream in black and white except in really good reception areas, then they are colour. If you are really lucky you get technicolor and surround sound too.

I would say that the vividness varies, but certainly in full colour! I don't think I've ever dreamed in black and white!

Studies say that it is rare to dream like this. But all of mine are the same too. Most of them I hate to even wake up from, others I can't wake up from but want to.
