I have always had good luck with Mane 'N Tail. It's got a wonderful apple scent to it, leaves the coat shiny and soft, and even works well on your own hair! Yep, it's human compatible. I wouldn't want to use something on my horse that I wouldn't be able to use on myself. If it'll be bad for me, it'll be bad for my horse. That's always the way I've looked at it. You can buy it anywhere pretty much, from grocery stores to pet stores to feed stores. As well, it's fairly reasonably priced. Best of luck with whatever path you take.

I like anything from Rio Vista Equine and also what i used when i had my appy was Fiebings Blue Frost Whitening Shampoo and Conditioner. Good Luck and remember to scrub, scrub.scrub!

Cheaper - Mane 'n Tail (great for horses and humans)

Bit more expensive - Cowboy Magic (definitely my favorite)
They make a great shampoo, conditioner, spot remover, and detangler.

I would recommend either Cowboy Magic, Mane and Tail, or Show Sheen. I used to a lot and I used these on my horse before I retired her. I still do for everyday grooming to.

Rio Vista Equine is the best. I don't use it for my current horse but I use it for the Shetland ponies I am training. They like how it smells so much they fall asleep while I'm bathing them! Well Good Luck! and remember...SCRUBBY!
